1.What are the things I should prepare prior to submitting my application?

Correct and the most recent visa form according to visa type, which has been
originally filled and signed by applicant.

Related supporting documents.

Visa fee according to visa type (CASH or tax invoice for payment done in
Australia).

Service charge per passport IDR 150,000 (CASH).

A copy of the first page of your valid passport (first page which bears your
photo and identification). This copy will be stamped by the submission officer.
Keep it with you to be used for any other activity related to your application
at VFS, including the collection.
2. When can I expect to collect my passport back?
Standard processing times (for complete applications) are listed below:-

3. Can I lodge my Partner Migration visa application, Citizenship
application & Resident Return Visa application at the Australian Visa
Application Centre?
BALI APPLICANTS – Bali Applicants can submit their Partner Migration (Spouse,
Fiance, Interdependent visas) and Resident Return visa applications to the Bali
Australian Visa Application Centre. Citizenship applications should be lodged
directly at the Australian Consulate-General. If you wish to enquire about
making a citizenship application please email immigration.bali@dfat.gov.au
Now Jakarta Applicants can submit their Partner Migration (Spouse,
Fiancé, Interdependent visas) and Resident Return visa applications to the
Australian Visa Application Centre in Jakarta along with the temporary visa
applications.If you wish to make queries or personally meet with a DIAC officer
about migration or citizenship applications, please seek an appointment first.

4. Can I lodge my Business/Skilled Migration application at the Australian
Visa Application Centre?
NO, all applications for business/skilled migration to Australia must be sent
directly to Australia for processing. Please see the DIAC website for more
information – www.immi.gov.au
5. How do I know when my passport is ready for collection from the
Australian Visa Application Centre?

6. Can I collect my passport from the Australia Embassy?
NO, you should collect your passport from the Australian Visa Application
Centre between 1400 hrs and 1600 hrs, Monday to Friday.
7. My application and passport have been submitted and it has been a while,
how can I enquire about the status of my application?

8. Can I send someone else to collect my passport from the Australian Visa
Application Centre?
Yes, you may send an authorised representative to collect your passport on your
behalf. The authorized person should provide the following documents:

Original receipt issued at the time of lodging application

Letter of authority signed by you

Photo copy of your passport data page which was handed over at the time of
lodgement by the Australian Visa Application Centre.

9. Can I have my passport sent to my home or work address?
Yes, you may choose to have the passport couriered to your location by paying
an additional logistics charge at the time of lodgement
10. Do I have to submit my passport and visa application with the
Australian Visa Application Centre only?
It is preferable to submit your application and passport at the Australian Visa
Application Centre. You may choose to lodge your application at the Embassy
only with prior appointment
11. Can I mail/courier my visa application and passport to the Australian
Embassy for processing?
Applications which are mailed or couriered to the Embassy may experience
delayed processing of up to 3 weeks. Applications lodged through the Australian
Visa Application Centre will be processed to the normal standard processing
times.
12. Can I submit my application through a travel agent?
YES, you may submit your application via a travel agent. They can also collect
the passport for you from the Australian Visa Application Centre when your
application is finalized. For ‘incentive tours’ arranged by a private company
and travel agent, you will need to seek appointment with DIAC officer to
prepare for the necessary documents before lodging the applications at
Australian Visa Processing Centre.
13. Can a relative/friend pay my Visa Application Charge in Australia?
YES, the visa application charge can be paid at a DIAC office in Australia.
Please attach the original receipt of payment to your application when you
lodge it at the Australian Visa Application Centre.
14. Can Indonesian Passport holders apply online for a visa?
Student visa applicants may apply online via authorized agents. However, all
other temporary entry visa applications should be submitted at the Australian
Visa Application Centre – online applications for these visa types are not
available to Indonesian passport holders
15. How do I make payment for visa charge?
Visa application charges can be made in cash; or credit card with additional 3%
Merchant Fee payable at AVAC counter; or bank cheques (ONLY for Travel Agents
with prior confirmation) payable to The Australian Embassy, Jakarta.
16. Do I have to pay a fee if only lodging passport for visa label
evidencing?
YES, you will be required to pay a service charge of IDR150,000 per passport in
cash. This is not a visa processing charge.
17. Can I mail in my application and passport to the Australian Visa
Application Center (AVAC)?
YES, you can submit your application with complete documentation by mail. For
mailed applications, please include the visa application fee and the service
charge in cash only. (Processing times may be longer than standard if
application forms are incomplete and required additional documents are not
included).
An additional fee of Rp. 50,000, - (cash only) will be required if you wish
your passport to be returned by commercial courier. Please note that AVAC will
not take responsibility for loss of cash/passport/documents in transit.
18. I’m applying for a partner visa in Bali. Where will my application be
processed?
Partner visa applications made anywhere in Indonesia (including Bali) are
processed at the Immigration Section of the Australian Embassy in Jakarta.
19. How long will my partner visa application take to process?
Most applications are decided within 3-5 months. However, each application is
different. Some may be decided sooner than 3 months, while others may take
longer than 5 months depending upon the nature of the application. Your
application may be processed more quickly if you submit a complete application
and respond quickly to requests for additional information.
20. I live in Bali. Will I need to go to Jakarta for an interview about my
partner visa application?
Staff of the Australian Embassy in Jakarta travel to Bali to conduct partner
visa interviews approximately every 3 months. However, not all applicants
require a face-to-face interview. You will be informed within 10 working days
of making your application whether or not a face-to-face interview will be
required in your case. Applicants who require a face-to-face interview but who
do not wish to wait for the next interview trip in Bali may be offered an
interview in Jakarta subject to availability.
21. Can I visit Australia while my partner application is being processed?
Partner visa applicants can apply for visitor visas so that they can visit
Australia while their application is being processed. Generally, a visitor visa
will not be granted until the partner visa application has been assessed as
likely to proceed to grant: that is, the health requirement for the partner
visa application has been met and the relationship has been assessed as genuine
(this may require a face-to-face interview – see above). Note that all visitor
visa applications are decided in accordance with Australian law, and that other
requirements will also need to be met.
22. I am applying for a student visa in Bali. Where will my application be
processed?
Student visa applications made anywhere in Indonesia (including Bali) are
processed at the Immigration Section of the Australian Embassy in Jakarta.
